New Record! South Africa's Tazmin Brits surpasses Smriti Mandhana, becomes first batter ever too..

South Africa’s Tazmin Brits made history at the 2025 Women’s World Cup in Indore by smashing a rapid century (101 off 86 balls, with 15 boundaries and a six) against New Zealand, thereby becoming the first batter ever to score five ODI centuries in a calendar year, surpassing Smriti Mandhana’s earlier record of four. She also became the fastest to seven ODI centuries, doing so in just 41 innings—breaking Meg Lanning’s previous mark. Meanwhile, New Zealand managed 231, thanks in part to Nonkululeko Mlaba’s four-wicket haul, and Sophie Devine notched a solid 85 (98) as she marked her 300th international appearance.
