Winter dehydration is more common than we think: Here’s how to fix it, according to expert

When winter sets in, dehydration becomes a silent risk, mistakenly overlooked because the urge to drink water seems lower and sweat-loss less obvious. Cold air and indoor heating systems sap moisture from both the environment and our bodies, while reduced thirst cues trick us into thinking we don’t need fluids. Experts suggest that simply drinking water may not be enough: opting for warm beverages, fluids with electrolytes, or alkaline water can better support hydration, immunity, skin health and energy in the colder months. Hydration should be viewed as a smart, intentional habit during winter, not just a summer problem.
