Akshay Kumar is not just Bollywood’s Khiladi, he is also its poster boy for discipline. While the industry thrives on night shoots and glamorous parties that stretch till dawn, Akshay is tucked into bed by ten. Dinner is done and dusted before most people have even decided what to order. For him, eating by seven is not a fad but a ritual that has stood the test of decades.
At the launch of Your Body Already Knows, Akshay revealed his golden rule. Early dinners, he explained, give the stomach the rest it deserves. When the eyes, arms, and legs are asleep, the stomach should not be forced to slog away at midnight like an overworked intern. Eat late, and by morning, instead of rejuvenating, your gut is already exhausted. His logic is disarmingly simple, but one can almost hear nutritionists everywhere nodding in agreement. According to him, most illnesses begin in the stomach, so the first step to good health is letting it clock out early.
The superstar’s ascetic streak does not end there. Every Monday, he fasts from Sunday night until Tuesday morning. A feat that would leave most mortals dizzy, Akshay treats it as routine. He swaps dumbbells for monkey bars, preferring rock climbing, hanging exercises, and sports over iron pumping. His gym, he laughs, is designed for primates, with no weights in sight. The result is a body that defies his age and a stamina that outpaces actors half his age.
Of course, even the fittest man in the business is not immune to box office stumbles. Housefull 5 failed to tickle the audience as expected. But Akshay is already on to his next act, gearing up to reunite with Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal in the much anticipated Hera Pheri 3.
