More than 50 countries have reached out to the White House to begin negotiations over President Donald Trump's new tariffs, according to top administration officials. The tariffs, announced on April 2, aim to redraw global trade rules and have sparked fears of a recession. Countries like China, Israel and Vietnam have already retaliated or expressed concerns. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent emphasized that unfair trade practices can't be resolved quickly, while White House trade adviser Peter Navarro defended the tariffs, saying they're necessary to reset global trade.
