The United Nations Security Council strongly condemned the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of several Indian soldiers and left others injured. The Council expressed its deep sympathy to the victims and their families, as well as to the Government of India.
Calling the act “heinous and cowardly,” the Security Council emphasized the need to bring those responsible to justice. It urged all countries to actively cooperate with India and other relevant authorities in the investigation and legal process.
Reaffirming that terrorism in all forms poses a serious threat to international peace and security, the Council stressed the importance of holding perpetrators, organizers, financiers, and sponsors of such acts accountable. It also reiterated the necessity for all states to combat threats posed by terrorist groups in accordance with international law and UN obligations.
