10 largest gold-producing countries in the world

When I look at the biggest gold producers in the world, China easily tops the list with about 380 tonnes a year, its massive mines and government-backed operations make it almost unbeatable. Right behind is Russia, producing around 330 tonnes, where most of the gold comes from Siberian regions. Australia follows with roughly 284 tonnes, thanks to rich reserves in Western Australia. Canada holds strong with about 202 tonnes, while the US contributes around 158 tonnes, mainly from Nevada. Then comes Ghana, Africa’s top gold hub, producing about 140 tonnes, closely followed by Mexico and Indonesia, both hovering around 140 tonnes too. Peru adds about 137 tonnes, and Uzbekistan rounds out the top ten with 129 tonnes. Together, these countries shape the global gold market, some depending on it for economic strength, others leading through advanced mining technology, but all proving just how central gold still is to the world economy.
