Hot-air balloon rides in India offer more than just a view from above, they provide a serene, slowfloating escape early in the morning, far removed from typical adventure thrills. Flights begin at sunrise when weather is calm, lasting anywhere from 30 to 75 minutes and lifting you 1,000–3,000 feet above stunning landscapes. Destinations include the majestic forts and desert terrain of Jaipur and Pushkar in Rajasthan, the mist-covered hills of Lonavala in Maharashtra, coastal views near Goa, the ancient ruins of Hampi in Karnataka, the soaring monument of the Taj Mahal in Agra, and the historical fort palace of Neemrana. Most rides cost between ₹10,000 and ~₹25,000 per person, and the best season is roughly October through March when skies are clear and winds are gentle.
