Apple to Debut Affordable 13‑Inch MacBook Powered by A18 Pro

Apple is planning to launch a budget‑friendly 13‑inch MacBook powered by its A18 Pro chip, typically found in the iPhone 16 Pro, per analyst Ming‑Chi Kuo. Code references within Apple’s systems, notably the “Mac17,1” identifier, confirm the device will use A18 Pro silicon. Mass production is expected to begin in late Q4 2025 or early Q1 2026, with availability shortly after. The laptop will debut in four colour options silver, blue, pink, and yellow and will deliver single‑core performance on par with the current M4 chips, while multicore benchmarks are close to the original M1. Annual shipments are projected at 5–7 million units, a move aimed at boosting MacBook sales to pre‑pandemic volumes.
