Google brings Gemini 2.5 Pro IO edition, it is tuned for coding and software development

Google has unveiled Gemini 1.5 Pro (I/O Edition), a new version of its AI model specifically optimized for developers. Introduced during the company’s I/O event, this edition of Gemini 1.5 Pro is fine-tuned to support coding, software development, and related tasks.

The I/O Edition of Gemini 1.5 Pro brings several enhancements aimed at improving the developer experience. It offers better reasoning, faster response times, and more accurate code generation. This iteration supports a context window of up to 1 million tokens, enabling it to process and understand large amounts of code and documentation in one go.

Additionally, the model is integrated into several Google developer tools such as Android Studio and Colab, and is also available via the Gemini API in Google AI Studio and Vertex AI. Google is clearly aiming to position Gemini as a strong competitor in the AI coding space, with its expanded capabilities designed to rival other leading platforms.
