WhatsApp to Cease Support for Older iPhones and Android Devices Starting June 1

From June 1, 2025 whatsApp will no longer function on select older iPhones and Android smartphones, impacting millions of users worldwide. The messaging giant is ending support for devices running outdated operating systems to enhance security and performance.

On iPhones, models operating below iOS 13, including the iPhone 6 and earlier, will lose access. For Android users, phones running Android 6.0 Marshmallow or earlier will no longer support WhatsApp.

Users are urged to upgrade their devices or operating systems immediately to continue using the app without interruption. This move aligns with WhatsApp’s commitment to maintaining a secure, efficient messaging platform amid evolving technology standards.
