Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma change stance, give in to Agarkar’s terms; ready to play Vijay Hazare Trophy before NZ ODIs

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have agreed to chief selector Ajit Agarkar’s request to play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy before India’s ODI series against New Zealand, aiming to stay match-ready and strengthen their chances for the 2027 World Cup. The move marks a shift from their earlier stance, as both senior players plan to feature in at least three to four matches during the five-week break between the South Africa and New Zealand series. Kohli last played in the tournament in 2010, while Rohit’s last appearance was in 2018.
