Tragedy in Paktika! Three Afghanistan cricketers killed in attack on Pakistan border; Captain Rashid Khan breaks down

Three local cricketers from the Afghanistan Cricket Board, Kabeer, Sibghatullah, and Haroon, were tragically killed in an attack near the Pakistan border in the eastern Paktika province after returning to Urgun from a friendly match in Sharana. Five other civilians also lost their lives in the incident. The Afghanistan Cricket Board condemned the strike as a cowardly act allegedly carried out by the Pakistani regime and announced the nation’s withdrawal from an upcoming tri-nation series with Pakistan and Sri Lanka as a mark of respect to the victims. Former captain Mohammad Nabi and current skipper Rashid Khan expressed deep sorrow, with Rashid calling the attack “immoral and barbaric” and extending condolences to the bereaved families and the entire Afghan cricket community.
