Mohsin Naqvi, head of the Pakistan Cricket Board and a key figure in the Asian Cricket Council, said that during the Asia Cup 2025 handing-over of the trophy he was made to “feel like a cartoon” as he stood waiting on the dais while the Indian team declined to accept the trophy from him; he continues to keep the Asia Cup trophy and winners’ medals in his Dubai hotel room and has refused to hand them over despite BCCI demands, at an ACC meeting, Indian officials insisted the trophy belongs to the ACC, not Naqvi, and threatened to appeal to the ICC to have it returned, while Naqvi countered that he had not been informed beforehand about India’s decision and objected to the manner in which the issue was being forced into the meeting agenda.
