Still recovering from freak injury, Shreyas Iyer doubtful for South Africa ODIs

Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer is reportedly doubtful for the upcoming ODI series against South Africa after suffering a freak injury during the third ODI against Australia. While attempting a diving catch, Iyer fell awkwardly and sustained a laceration to his spleen, leading to internal bleeding and a brief blackout when his oxygen levels dropped dangerously low. He was immediately attended to by the medical team and later underwent several tests that confirmed the extent of his injury. Doctors have advised him to rest for at least a month before resuming full training, as his recovery process needs careful monitoring. The BCCI and the selection committee are said to be closely tracking his progress but are not willing to take any risks by rushing his return to action. Iyer, known for his aggressive batting and solid middle-order presence, will continue rehabilitation under medical supervision, with hopes of making a strong comeback once fully fit.
