Vaibhav Suryavanshi showed maturity and temperament under pressure: Vikram Rathour

In a remarkable IPL 2025 clash between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi delivered a performance that captured the attention of the cricketing world.

Chasing a target of 188, Suryavanshi showcased maturity beyond his years, scoring 57 runs off just 33 balls. His innings included four boundaries and four sixes, playing a pivotal role in RR’s six-wicket victory.

Although he faced only seven deliveries during the powerplay, Suryavanshi quickly adapted to the match situation. He brought up his half-century in 27 balls and built a crucial 98-run partnership with captain Sanju Samson, which became the backbone of Rajasthan’s successful chase.

Following the match, RR’s batting coach Vikram Rathour praised the young batter’s temperament and game awareness. He remarked that the team had seen flashes of such composure in practice, but witnessing it under the pressure of a high-stakes game was truly impressive. Rathour also acknowledged Suryavanshi’s ability to handle challenging conditions and his execution against a quality bowling lineup. With this knock, Suryavanshi has now amassed 252 runs in seven matches this season, further solidifying his status as one of the brightest young talents in the league.
