A widely used kitchen ingredient refined vegetable oil may be silently harming your liver, health experts have cautioned. Despite its routine use in Indian cooking, excessive consumption of refined oils has been linked to liver inflammation, fatty liver disease, and impaired detoxification processes.
Medical professionals highlight that refined oils, often stripped of essential nutrients during processing, are high in omega-6 fatty acids and trans fats. This imbalance can trigger oxidative stress and increase the risk of liver dysfunction over time. Many people unknowingly worsen liver health by relying heavily on these oils for daily cooking, unaware of the long-term implications.
Nutritionists recommend switching to healthier alternatives such as cold-pressed oils, olive oil, or ghee in moderation. Paired with a balanced diet and regular exercise, making this small change could offer significant protection to one of the body’s most vital organs.
