Marjoram for hair growth: Move over Rosemary, Marua is all you need to try for amazing hair growth

Oh, let’s just admit it already—we are obsessed with haircare. And honestly, why shouldn’t we be? Good hair can make or break a look. But when the conversation turns to hair growth, our minds instantly jump to rosemary oil, castor oil, or some oddly hyped serum off an Instagram reel.

But maybe it’s time we gave the spotlight to the quiet little MVP sitting on our kitchen spice rack—Marua, also known as marjoram. It might not come with flashy packaging or influencer endorsements, but don’t let that fool you. This humble herb packs some serious benefits. So don’t judge it by its size—because once you bring Marua into your haircare routine, there’s no going back. Nope.

So how do you use this underdog herb?
1. Marua hair oil – Warm up a bit of coconut or sesame oil (whatever your scalp prefers), toss in a handful of dried marua leaves, and let it simmer on low for 10–15 minutes. Once it cools, strain and store in a glass bottle. Massage it in slowly—no rushing, okay?—and leave it overnight. Wash it off the next morning with a gentle shampoo. Do this twice a week and say hello to stronger roots and less hair on your comb.

2. Tea rinse but make it spicy - Boil 2 tablespoons of dried marua in 2 cups of water. Let it steep, cool, and after shampooing, pour it all over your scalp. Gently massage and leave it in—no rinse required.
Think of it as a refreshing hair tonic: clears buildup, reduces itchiness, and gives your scalp the reset it didn’t know it needed.

3. The Marua-yoghurt mask – for dull, drama-prone hair. Mix marua powder or paste with thick curd and a drizzle of honey. Slather it on your scalp and mid-lengths, wrap your hair in a warm towel, and let it sit tight for 30–40 minutes.
The result? Hair that’s soft, shiny, and behaving for once.

4. No-oil gang, here’s your serum
Blend fresh aloe vera gel with a bit of marua tea (from earlier) and dab it onto your scalp using a dropper or cotton pad. Optional: Add peppermint or tea tree oil if your scalp is feeling cranky. No washing needed. Just vibes.

5. Throw it into everything
Already using onion oil? Mix in marua. Making a banana mask? Add marua. The herb is like that chill friend who gets along with everyone—and boosts the squad while doing it.

But why Marua?
Because it's rich in antioxidants, naturally antifungal, and improves blood flow to the scalp—basically, it ticks all the boxes for hair health. Plus, it calms inflammation, so goodbye itchy scalp and those weird little hairline breakouts. Marua is that low-key legend your hair’s been waiting for. And it won’t burn a hole in your wallet.
