Shilpa Shetty's Bandra restaurant to shut down amid Rs 60 crore fraud case: 'This Thursday marks the end of an era

Bollywood diva Shilpa Shetty is in the spotlight again, and this time it’s not for a red carpet moment. The actress and her husband Raj Kundra are facing allegations of defrauding over Rs 60 crore in a loan-cum-investment deal spanning eight years. While the legal drama unfolds, Shilpa decided to take her fans on an emotional ride, announcing that her beloved Mumbai restaurant Bastian Bandra is closing its doors.

On social media, Shilpa shared a heartfelt note saying that Thursday will mark the end of an era. “This Thursday marks the end of an era as we bid farewell to one of Mumbai's most iconic destinations - Bastian Bandra. A venue that gave us countless memories, unforgettable nights, and moments that shaped the city's nightlife now takes its final bow,” she wrote. She also promised a special farewell evening for the restaurant’s closest patrons, blending nostalgia with magic and energy, celebrating all that Bastian Bandra stood for.

While Bastian Bandra closes, the party does not stop. Shilpa revealed that the popular Thursday night ritual Arcane Affair will continue at Bastian at the Top, promising a new chapter with fresh experiences.

For a bit of context, the restaurant originally opened in 2016 and was co-owned by Shilpa and restaurateur Ranjit Bindra. Known for its exquisite food and artistic decor, it became a hotspot for Mumbai’s nightlife.

As for the allegations, businessman Deepak Kothari claims the couple misappropriated funds for personal use, linked to his investment in Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd. Shilpa and Raj’s advocate, Prashant Patil, dismissed the claims as baseless and already adjudicated by the NCLT in 2024.

So while the restaurant shutters its doors, the story around the celebrity couple is far from over, keeping fans both concerned and curious.
