Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 smashed box office records, opening with an impressive ₹61.85 crore on day one (October 2), then earning ₹45.40 crore on day two, ₹55 crore on Saturday, and ₹63 crore on Sunday, before clocking ₹31.25 crore on Monday, making it the biggest Monday collection of 2025. In just five days, the film raked in ₹256.50 crore, overtaking previous Monday benchmarks set by films like Chhaava, Saiyaara, Coolie, War 2, Good Bad Ugly, They Call Him OG, and Housefull 5. The sequel features Gulshan Devaiah, Jayaram and Rishab’s daughter Rakimini Vasanth, and a third installment has already been announced; the makers expect the film to cross ₹300 crore within its first week, surpassing the total of the 2022 original, which had earned around ₹310 crore.
