Kantara Chapter 1 box office Day 4: Rs 300 crore in sight, biggest Kannada opener

‘Kantara: Chapter 1’, written, directed and led by Rishab Shetty and featuring Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram and Gulshan Devaiah, opened worldwide on October 2 (with select premieres on October 1) and has been delivering a tremendous box office run: it grossed about ₹88 crore on day 1, dipped to ₹65 crore on day 2, then rose to ₹82 crore on day 3, with a net of ₹61.5 crore on day 4, bringing the total to approximately ₹232.75 crore net (gross closer to ₹300 crore), making it the third-highest grossing Kannada film ever — its strong early momentum suggests it will soon officially cross the ₹300-crore mark.
