Mahhi Vij was hospitalised in Mumbai due to a high fever and extreme weakness, as confirmed by her publicist, at a time when rumours of her separation from husband Jay Bhanushali were already circulating. Despite the divorce speculations, including talk of a ₹5 crore alimony demand, Mahhi had previously stated she did not believe in taking alimony, emphasising that women should work and earn for themselves rather than depend on support in the event of a separation. Meanwhile, a close friend noted that Mahhi and Jay share “immense respect” and a “beautiful bond”, hoping for a non-bitter parting if it comes.
