Kareena Kapoor, 44, Stays Red-Carpet Ready With Heavy Lifts, HIIT—and No ‘Skinny’ Obsession

Forget crash diets: Kareena Kapoor Khan’s trainer Mahesh Ghanekar says the actor’s only metric is strength. Working with him four times a week, she powers through hour-long sessions built around weight training, functional moves and heart-rate-based HIIT circuits. Each workout spikes her pulse to 170-plus, burns 400–500 calories and then tests how fast it recovers—an internal fitness gauge, not a scale reading.

The regimen has trimmed her weight from 67.5 kg to 64 kg, with another two to three kilos targeted, while carving inches off her frame. Kapoor even turns home walls and staircases into improvised gyms to keep the routine fresh.

Ghanekar calls her a model for women in their forties: “It’s not about being skinny but about building a body that feels strong and energetic.” Consistency, he adds, is the star’s true secret weapon.
