There’s Thursday Throwback — and then there’s Aditya Roy Kapur. His playful jab at former co-stars Shraddha Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra is making the rounds again, and for good reason. The viral clip from Koffee With Karan Season 6 reminds us just how quick-witted (and cheeky) Aditya can be when the pressure’s on.
So here’s what went down: Aditya was sharing the famous Koffee couch with Sidharth Malhotra when Karan Johar tossed him a spicy one during the rapid-fire round — “Shraddha or Parineeti – who’s more talented?” And what did Aditya do? Without missing a beat, he casually waved his hand and said, “Neither.” Sidharth cracked up. Karan pushed further — “You think neither of them are talented?” And with that signature smirk, Aditya added, “Ya, no talent.”
Now, before the internet cancels him (again), let’s remember: it was clearly said in jest. But also, this is Aditya we’re talking about — the guy who always plays it cool, even when the heat’s on.
From his breakout in Aashiqui 2 with Shraddha Kapoor to Daawat-e-Ishq with Parineeti, Aditya has worked closely with both actresses. So maybe a little harmless banter was fair game? Either way, it made for some top-tier Koffee chaos.
Cut to now — Aditya’s come a long way. He recently starred in Metro In Dino alongside Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, and Konkona Sen Sharma. The film, directed by Anurag Basu, got a solid response from audiences and reminded everyone that he’s still got it.
But the journey wasn’t all smooth. In a candid chat with Kareena Kapoor Khan on What Women Want, Aditya opened up about the tough phases of his career. “There have been vulnerable moments… maybe because I was vulnerable at that point in time,” he said, reflecting on the lull when roles weren’t exciting and the industry felt a bit too silent.
Still, he bounced back — with a grin, of course. And this throwback just proves that no matter where he is in his journey, Aditya Kapur knows how to keep things interesting.
