IIT-Madras launches new PG Diploma for fresh graduates and professionals

IIT Madras has introduced a new postgraduate diploma program aimed at fresh graduates and working professionals seeking industry-relevant technical skills. The program offers specializations in Aerospace Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Design, and Process Safety. Classes are scheduled to begin in August or September 2025, with applications open until May 2025. Admission will be based on an entrance exam to be held on July 13, 2025.

Designed for flexibility, the program features live online evening or weekend classes, along with recorded sessions for self-paced learning. Participants will have opportunities to engage in hands-on projects and interim assessments conducted via remote proctoring. Final exams will be held at designated centers across India, and students may have the option to visit IIT Madras for lab sessions where applicable. Additionally, students have the possibility to upgrade to a web-enabled MTech degree from IIT Madras.

This initiative addresses the growing demand for flexible, industry-aligned technical education that accommodates the evolving aspirations of young graduates and professionals.
